I was re-reading my post and it seems a little confusing. I ordered 2 new park brake cables from Chevs of the forties and they say to reuse your old clevis. I took the old cable off and could not see anyway to get the old clevis off. I cheated and cut the old cable to get the clevis off. The problem is there is no way to get the clevis on the new one..... Has anyone done this or have any insight? It seems as if i have to remove the crimped end off put the clevis on and re crimp it but im afraid the end will just pull off.....

I contacted Chevs for advise the first replay was "just thread it off the old one and thread on to the new one... after I replied and said the clevis goes on the other end they replied with "that is all the information I have on this you might have to source information else where".....

Doesn't sound easy to me, either. I'd be checking eBay... :-)

END!!

What I have come up with in all my research is to cut the clevis and slide on the cable the pinch the clevis back together. Seem stupid they couldn't just put the clevis on the cable but it works. I also put a little tack weld on it to hold it closed. Thanks for all the replies!!
