Since I will be lettering my 37 as a shop truck I was wondering what was some of those goofy little things that a truck owner of the late 30s to early 40s would install in the cab,I have seen a flashlight holder that would clip to the steering column so thats the kind of stuff I am looking for info on.

I am not going to go overboard like the lowriders do but I have a flashlight and holder coming and looking for a correct registration holder and might try to fin d a fan but that might get expensive for a good one.

I don't know about Ohio but in Iowa those old trucks always carried a set of red kerosene flares mounted on the box side, I think they were required back in the old days in Iowa.

Some of us value originality and would never put a reproduction accessory on our trucks. I see no need to get offensive.

Was not intending to get offensive but what some parts goes for is just mind boggling to me,the last I looked it was up to 495 and has probably gone higher.

Went back and looked at it more closely and I could not see GM stamped on it so I will change what I said to old crusty hat holder and leave original out of it as its most likely a aftermarket,a few weeks ago I seen another aftermarket accessory that brought some very big bucks but cant remember what it was right now that shocked me and wished I had a warehouse full of them to sell.

651.99 for that hat holder and makes me feel better for spending almost 300 for the glove box door with the clock and ash tray,I thought I needed to be committed to the funny farm for spending that much for it.

I know you cant take it with you but 651.99 for a hat holder is a little too much,I now I think I know what also went for stupid money and it was a flashlight and it went for over 2500.00. I hope I dont offend anyone but if anyone would pay 2500 for a flashlight then they have more money then anything else.

I am just amazed at what some people will pay for things,I wish I could throw that kind of money around for parts I need but if I would hit the lottery then maybe.

One of the lotteries my state (Ore) participates in is at $175M. When it gets that hi, I risk a buck and buy a ticket. Tell ya what Jeff, if I win I'll buy one of those damn $2000 parts for ya.
Otherwise, you're on your own....
And, I couldn't agree with ya more about about how much stuff costs; what some folks can / will spend; etc. etc.
Bill.

One of then that Ohio participates in is up to a little over 100M so I will be spending a couple dollars and see if I get lucky,if I were to get rich you would never hear me complain about the high cost of parts.

It looked similar enough to this one for me to assume it was GM. Maybe it isn't???

It looks very similar but is different, could have been made in a different year or they made different versions. I am going to look in every old truck I see and will be grabbing any I can find if they are going to bring that kind of money.

Hat holder indeed!....I have been saving up for 3 years JUST TO BUY A HAT. I would like to buy a 5 gallon can of 1938 Gasoline tho...for 15 cents a gallon.
I was only wrong one time in my life so far. But that time I was right, and only thought I was wrong....ED
