Hi guys,
I'm in the middle of restoring my 1959 apache fleetside. I've had the old man for about 16 years and it was time for him to get a new look as 50 years of labor was starting to show. My question today is that My paint code shows up as 740j meaning cardinal red but we have taken it apart to reveal it was originally omaha orange. have any of you had this happen. the paint sample was in a spot that hasn't seen sun or dirt since it was put together. Also I was wondering about the interior color. It is kind of a light coppery beige color (maybe frontier beige) for most of it except the dash which is a textured semigloss? black and the doors wells/steps which I think were also black. Any help on these paint codes would be apreciated, thanks.

My "book" shows 740 as Cardinal Red with a Bombay Ivory top.
Interior options were Charcoal and beige for the standard cab. Light green, light blue or silver beige for the Dluxe cab.
Thats about all I can come up with.

Canadian numbers/combinations were not always the same as the US.

Thanks Chevnut, is there any chance you have the dupont paint codes for cardinal red, omaha orange, bombay ivory, charcoal and this silver beige or beige you speak of. Thanks for all of you help. Oh, the truck is a U.S. truck.

I am working from the 1960 Truck Data book for the paint info......the colors were the same as 1059.
The number they have describes it as "Air -drying paint" with no brand name. I would assume its DuPont.
red = 93-58209-H
orange = 93-082
ivory = 93-72961
The other colors mentioned refer to the upholstery covering on the seats (1960) as per the parts book.

Omaha Orange is kind of a State Highway department color. And while Cardinal red is definitely red, it has much more of an orange feel to it than say a Fire Engine Red. So are you sure that you saw a real orange color, or was it a washed out orangey red?
Go here for all of the paint color chip sheets and their modern crossovers. Put in Chevy trucks and the year and you're all set. When you have the chip chart, you can place the cursor directly over the chip to get a closer view of your color.

Thanks K10, I'm even a little more confused than I was but I would have to say I am now leaning more towards cardinal red as it does not seem as red as the omaha orange seems orange (if that makes any sense). I don't suppose any of you have a real good idea what color code the interior is (it is a light silver/copper/beige. As well as what looks like black/darkgrey on the floor. Is the dash the same color as the floor?
thanks guys....Jeff

Do you have a paint code number for that silver beige interior?
I have a 1951 Chevy 1/2 ton, deluxe cab (5 window). Looking for a restoration product color and number. Thank you in advance.
