Look for an ad in the G&D by W.D. Foster and give him a call. He supplied me with all of the gears for my 1938 HB, most were NOS.

You can reuse what ever does not show wear.....but I would replace the front and rear ball bearings for sure. Also check the condition of the cluster gear shaft and bushing in the cluster gear that ride on the shaft.....and have a shop manual handy.

I sent you a PM on this. I believe there is a 50s era passenger car gear set that will fit this trans if you shorten and reapline the tailshaft. This was covered in a G & D in the 70's. As I recall only the tailshaft requires any machine work and the benefits were silent operation and improved shifting.

Oops, I meant RESPLINE the tailshaft. It's a very quick and easy machining procedure done with a chop saw to shorten the shaft and a dividing head on a milling machine to cut 10 new splines at precisely spaced intervals.
