I'm restoring a 41 Convertible that is quite rough. Most of the trunk pan was missing including the luggage shelf. Now that the has floor pan been replaced I need to fabricate the complete luggage shelf. I would like to communicate with someone who would be willing to send or describe to me the physical dimensions of the shelf including fabrication details. Thanks in advance, Mike #16373

Hi Mike. We are engaged in the same kind of project. I went out and took some pictures of mine and measured (as best I could) the metal surround/support.

Depth (long side): 38"
Depth (short side): 201/2"
Dog Leg: 12"
Width at rear (joining dogleg): 23 1/4"
Metal Rail (along outside supporting the wood) 1 1/4" or 1 5/16" (hard to tell)
Stands: 8 1/2"
Looks like the groove/channel is flush with the lower lip of the tray and is made to accommodate as 5/16" or so piece of plywood.

Send me your email address and I'll send you some picks. I tried photobucket and couldn't get nothing for "free" there. What a mess that was!

Best, Charlie
