I just have to ask this question. Is there something I am missing. When you raise the hood on one side or the other, it just lays on top of the other half. Won't that scratch both sides after a while? I know when I paint mine I don't want to scratch it up by laying it over to the other side. Or is that just the way it is.

Thanks

Steve

You could fabricate a couple hooks that mount on the inside of the hood on the hood handle nuts. Then when the hood is raised you hook the hook on the radiator support rod. How about putting a soft cloth down on the opposite hood side to lay the open half upon.

I bought a rod that gets clamped across the radiator support rods.It has hooks that drop down to rest the bottom edge of the open hood in. I don't remember which after market supplier but you might try J.C. Whitney or maybe The Filling Station.

Check some of the antique F0rd catalogs for them also, might be less expensive.
