Got mine yesterday.
Set an all time record of about 17 minutes reading it. Cover to cover.
Least attractive cover I've seen in a long time but, that's life. Say who's designing the new covers ??
Enjoy the ride, Michael Welch

Mike, I have to strongly disagree! I think it is the best cover ever on the G&D! Because it is my car on the cover! John Mahoney

I saw a Chevy just like the one on the cover of the G&D. It was at the 46th Central Meet last year in Elmirya, New York. If memory serves me correct, I believe that it might have been a Best of Show vehicle........nice car.

I finally got up off my dead a*s and went and looked at the last several G and D covers. I found the logo on the front cover and the back cover. Not sure what you fellas are talking about....
As long as I'm here, I'm not above commenting again that I don't like our logo. It's tired, old and out-dated. That teens car (or whatever it is) certainly no longer represents what this club is all about. At the very least it can only serve to confuse folks as to what we embrace. That car clearly indicates we only embrace really old Chevrolets.
From a “marketing perspective” I’m certain it’s not a good idea to show folks something we aren’t. Or at least something we’re trying to get away from.
As I understand it, the club is making great efforts to increase membership. As I read here in CC from time to time, some are even dreaming about 10,000 members by Flint!!!
Our tired, old, out-dated logo is hardly the image we’d want to convey to bring new, maybe even younger, members on board.
It’s probably a good idea to show NO logo (altho the logo is on my covers ??) until we have an updated one that more accurately reflects what today’s VCCA is all about.
As long as…..….
From a marketing perspective, there’s also a big need to slightly alter the name of our club. For all the obvious reasons it is very important to have “C” as the first letter in the first name of this club. Chevrolet, for instance, would be a great choice. Duh!!!
Something like Chevrolet Vintage Car Club.
Pretty crazy to be in a list of car clubs and be under “V” when what somebody is looking for a “Chevrolet” car club.
2 cents, and a bit more….
Bill.

42bill: Are you talking about the logo being on the yellow protective cover of the magazine or the front color cover itself? Along the same lines of a name change, since we now recognize all Chevrolets up to 1985, and possibly modifieds as well, how about "Chevrolet Club of America"?

It's Here!! Feb.26...a Friday, the last day of the month for mail delivery, and I knew I could have faith in the U.S.and Canadian postal systems as well as Air France for their timely service!! ![[Linked Image from i150.photobucket.com]](http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s84/brewsterg6/my%20model%20cars/VCCATours004.jpg) This is ABSOLUTELY NOT a rant at the VCCA, or the people in charge of the G&D... But!!! It blows me away that I can look on any map of North America and see Illinois a mere two states, or three quarters of a days drive away from my home of Ontario Canada, yet my G&D shows up with this "Priority Post" France sticker on it!! The problem is not our clubs to pick the cheapest and fastest form of transportation of mail, but the post offices. I like to consider myself a man of the world, as I have traveled all over the globe, and have seen many countries... and not once has it taken me more than 48 hours for me and my luggage to return home!!! Where is the "Priority" in Priority Post!! If we sent the copies in French would it save the guys at the airport the extra three weeks to translate them, seal them back up and mail them back to us!! Okay, my rant is over now... I'm going to wait by the mailbox for my March issue! edit... I realize Air France is not likely involved in this at all, I just wanted to blame the French for something!!

Along the same lines of a name change, since we now recognize all Chevrolets up to 1985, and possibly modifieds as well, how about "Chevrolet Club of America"? Skippy, I guess I was talking about the logo being on the "outside" yellow cover. I'm now getting the idea others were talking about no logo being on the cover of the actual magazine. As for no logo on the actaul cover, there's probably no need to have the logo on it anyway. The "real" cover can't be seen with that outside yellow protectiive cover over it. And, like somebody said, "I know what club I belong to" or something to that effect. Also, I like your idea of a slightly revised name for our great club --- Chevrolet Club of America. That certainly would have more appeal to a broader age (the person's age and / or the year of the cars) without the "limiting" word --- vintage. More two cents.... Bill.

Well smitty I'm with you. I think by next year we'll be just another car club. When we change i think our name should be ( CHEVROLET CLUB OF THE WORLD ) I don't think we should leave any of our world members unaddressed in this proses. One man's option

i might have not put the words right. i did not mean that the club was only for old chevys.but that the name was like a first eye cauther.that what what i saw a place that knows about older chevys.i am not smart enough to be into marking and know notthing. i give the people credet for giveing ther time and experce to help people like me.why not push one of our most valued feathers know other club has. ask about your old chevy and get a answer right away. smoe of the people on here has knowledge that is priceless.books do not have some of what they know. and the answer you right away . with there permisson market them . best information you can get. time spend ther is better thenworing about names and other things. they are your best draw to get more member ship the unlimted supply of knowledge the have .

To get this to work you should send a message by email to memberservices@vcca.org telling your story. Inform your VCCA member number as well. I think that could solve the problem.
