I got mine at Hampton Coach. Do you still have the metal trim that holds the windlace?

When I had the interior put back into my car, I had the Hampten Coach kick panels, but they had been wet at sometime and were warped. My upholster got some new hardboard, sewed a new trim piece around the edges and painted it to match the original color and we put that into the car. Cost of materials was less than $20 and labor to do it was about an hour.
Like so many things, "this ain't rocket science."

I went to a local fabric store here in the area and was able to find a piece of hardboard, 3\16-1\4" thick. Used the old panels for patterns and painted them brown. ___________________________________ Joe's 37

The originals out of my 38 were vinyl covered. My upholsterer just recovered them. ![[Linked Image from i47.photobucket.com]](http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f167/Tinys1938/RightSideUnder.jpg)

Your wiring looked like mine. The problem I had was being 6ft and 210 lbs., not to mention 62 yrs old. I couldn't get up under the dash to get to some of the old wiring. Being old isn't all fun. Grin

i know what you mean... i'm 60, 5'6", 350lbs. but i found that taking out the front seat will get you more room to work under the dash. i was hanging my feet over the seat and a bucket to hold my head up while rewiring the dash...had to get my wife to pull me out... so embarasing.

Mr. KWHITE has it right. I am 63, 6'1" and 180, but I can tell you that taking out the seat makes a huge difference. The front seat is a snap to take out in the '37, I can't say how the other years are, but regardless, it is worth the effort to gain easy access. A couple old blankents add a nice cushion on the floor too.
I also removed the headlight switch and ignition switch when I wired things up. Then, about the only crawling around I had to do was to connect to the back of the instrument panel.
