Check out this guys work... The photography is amazing! I've tried to get out door pics of some of my models in the past (Like my Hubbly '32 roadster) But this guy takes the cake!

This guy is a genius! Try and sort out which houses and trees in the backgroung are real, and which are not. You have to see the pics with him in them to really figure out how it's done!...Enjoy!

Along the lines of those really neat "train sets" at Sears at Christmas Time in the 50's.

The Allstate car sold by Sears in the early 1950's was a Henry J, a compact car made by Kaiser. Was a basic Henry J with Allstate emblems, tires and battery. Allstate was Sears brand name for some of their automotive parts, tires, batteries, motor oil, polish, and such.

I do recall that car. The father of one of my good friend grade school class mates worked at Sear's. I don't recall what he did/what dept. But, he had an "Allstate" around 52-53. Jeff and I got a kick out of riding around with his dad in that car. His dad was often about half 'under-the-weather' and we thought it was fun as hell as his dad kinda kicked the crap out of that little car going around corners in our neighborhood, etc.
Again, only in America. And only back in those days......

It looks like most of the models are 1:24 Franklin mints

When I was very young, for some reason I seem to remember a tiny Crosley on that wall and I thought that was so cool, but it had to have been a Hen. J. My boss has collected all kinds of those "Mint" models and has them on display in the shop office, but this can rival many of Hollyweird's effects.

I had the advantage as I was not very young, even in 1953. I remember driving a new Henry J when they were new.

I also remember the Henry J back in the 50's and my Brother-in-law owned a Simca and he got real good use out of it.
I think I'm a fairly wise person because I'm smart enough to realise I'm not too bright.

I didn't know that anyone else ever owned a Simca. I once owned a '59 model. Ran ok but obtaining part was a nightmare even though it was sold in the US by Chrysler dealers. Come to think of it getting Chrysler parts was also a nightmare in those days.

In the neighborhood where I grew up, our neighbor drove a Simca and got quite allot of attention. I also worked on one or two of them in my apprenticeship years in the early 70s. I wonder if that is where the idea for the "Smart" comes from? (HA HA)!

I've been to Michael's "Flicker" site a few times. This guy is truly an artist. He has had many offers for the use of these photos and rightfully so.
He says most models are 1/24 scale and Danbury or Franklin Mint.
When you visit the site click on the info button and a short comment by him shows up.
