Greetings all,
Well, I'm slowly making progress reassembling my 1937 216 and have a question concerning the rocker arm shafts--are the oil holes pointing down or up? They were loose in a box and I have no idea how they should be positioned. As always, your help is greatly appreciated!!

They should only go one way as there is a shoulder bolt. Look at your rocker shafts the bolt hole should be bigger on one side then it is the other.

thrasher Down, otherwise the rockers would run dry while the shafts filled with oil from the tiny oil feed line.

If the holes are up it would they would index with the oil holes in the rocker arms and the oil would pee straight up and what a mess that would be.
