I'm trying to replace some of my old wiring with new. I see on the wiring diagram that the gas gauge wire goes from the ign. switch to the gas gauge and then to the tank unit. My question is about the wire going to the tank unit. It looks like it is going overhead towards the dome light. It goes behind a panel and disapears. Anyone know how it is routed? I didn't see it under the car.

I have a new wiring harness for my car and the wire to the tank runs through the harness under the car to the tank. There are only two wires that I am aware of that go overhead. One is power to the dome light and another is a wire to the ceiling mounted speaker.

Does that wire come out of the main bundle that goes down by the dimmer switch or does it go under the car from another direction?

Yes, it is in that bundle of wires that goes through the floor near the dimmer switch.

The coupe goes over the ceiling to the passenger side, along the rail to the back and down the back of the B pillar beside the seat to the trunk area where it runs to the top of the tank. It never leaves the passenger compartment.

Great news for me. I was getting worried. All the wires going down beside the dimmer switch have already been replaced, THANKS, I can breathe better now. I was beginning to think I cut up the wrong wire.
