I have a 1929 chev and I would like to order some books. don't know weather to order shop manual DG121 (1929) or DG171 (1929-1930)from The Filling Station. They also have 3 master parts books and 1 parts interchange book which one would be most use full to me.

DG121 would be best for your 1929. The fewer years any of these books cover, so long as they have your year, the better. I'd also recommend the 1929 Service Bulletin set.

Sorry to disagree on this one. The ’29 Repair Manual is dated March ’29. Significant changes were made to ’29 models later in the model year which would not be included in the manual. In fact even any changes made in the couple of months before publication date might not be included. So if big D has a later model the combined ’29-30 manual would be a better choice. He also should seriously consider an owners manual, parts book (”˜29- Feb ’32 reprint is an excellent choice and supplemented by the 29-42 reprint recommended.). A copy of the engineering features will provide information not found elsewhere. And lastly if any bodywork, including upholstery, wood replacement, adjustment of the body is anticipated a copy of the Fisher Body Manual will also be helpful. The interchange book will not prove to be very helpful for the '29. Any interchange can be determined from the two parts books.
I am a believer in original books, particularly the parts books and the more the better but reprints also have their place.

From the numbers I would suspect that the car was assembled in Canada. If so it should have the Canada on the firewall plate which are different from the US plates. My experience is that the assembly plant, Oshawa, Regina, etc. would also be on the plate.
From the recommended website, it clearly is a sedan (Job 8850). The engine number is in the sequence assigned to non-US assembly (7921 - 257915). Since I am not a '29 expert I can't help much more.

The plate on the floor front door pasenger side says General Motors of Canada Limited Oshawa Wackerville Regina. I think from the numbers I can find ,it was probably built in Regina. The car was last plated in Saskatchewan in 1953. Thanks for your help it is much apreciated.
