The wrapped armored cable was used in 1929 and early 1930. In late 1930 and up the larger flexible headlight armored cable was used. What is the difference between the two (besides being larger)? What would be the dates to determine the early 1930 from the late 1930? The ID plate on my car is 9AD 39055. Is this early or late?

Second  Is there a source for the ID plates? Mine was painted over.

Thanks for the answer to the second part of the question. Does anyone have an answer for the first part. What would be the dates to determine the early 1930 from the late 1930? The ID plate on my car is 9AD 39055. Is this early or late?

Many of the changes between the early and the late 1930 models came around April of 1930. The car serial numbers for 1930 did not reflect the month of manufacture as part of the serial number as in later years. If your car still has the original engine you can post either the casting date or the engine serial number here and we can probably tell you what month your engine was manufactured. That would give you an idea about when your car was manufactured.

Your engine was cast in June of 1930 so you have a late 1930 and not an early. laugh laugh laugh
