Does anybody know where I could find a '29-'31 style bow-tie & shield emblem or patch. That would be suitable to use on a spare tire cover?

Thank you & Merry Christmas :) chevy wink

This seller might also have the one with the shield.

If you look in "A Pictorial History of Chevrolet 1929-39" you can see the type used on these years for the tire covers. I emailed you a picture of an original tire cover that Bruce DeFord sent me some time ago. I don't know how to show it on this site. If you can post it others will be able to see it.
Cover:
The side wall cover OD is 29”, the ID is 18.5”
The side wall distance is 5”
The distance that covers the tread on the tire is 3 1/8”
The back side cover distance is 1 ¾”

Bow-tie:
Length from tip to tip 3 ¾”
The knot part is 1 ½”
Height over the “C” is 1”
Height over the “R” is 1 3/8”
Letter height is 3/8”

Doug, Thanks for the pic. Unfortunately I do not
know how to post it either. I'm not looking for a
true authentic type of tire cover. Just one to kind'a dress up the 'ol buggy. In fact what I'm wanting to do. Is find a Model-A "you-know-what"
tire cover for a 21" wheel and superimpose the Chevy emblem over the "you-know-what" emblem. It
could probably be done for minimum money and I'm
sure the 21" cover would fit on my 20" Chevy rim and tire.

Roger, Thanks for your reply too. I'll look into it.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year everybody! :) wink :p

Capt. H.,
Here is another site with chevrolet patches:
http://shop.store.yahoo.com/mbaciu/autospage4.html
Also Lebaron Bonney which now owns Hampton Coach made me a tire cover some years ago. If you give them the patch you want they may also sew that on if they are still doing tire covers. Don't go with the measurements I gave but I would do what you said. http://www.lebaronbonney.com/
http://www.hamptoncoach.com/

and yes..Merry Merry Christmas

Doug
