For like of knowledge I will call it the gas tank apron. The part above the gas tank.
Anyway how is this part removed? Do I have to unbolt the body?
It seems to be under the rear body. I have all the Fenders ,aprons, and
running boards off. and I would like to have this piece join them to be painted black. Or maybe powder coated. Thanks pAUl

Paul, There are two 1/4" stove bolts that have to come off, you will have to lossen the body bolts and raise the body to get at them. :) :)

You didn't want to hear that... but you DO have to raise the body slightly to remove it. devil

(and that is why one of my '31's still has a fiberglass patch on the gas tank apron after 30 years...ha!) mad curse

HEY PAUL, I THINK YOU WOULD BE VERY UNHAPPY LATER ON DOWN THE ROAD IF YOU POWDERCOATED THE PIECES THAT YOU MENTIONED. PAINTING IS THE BEST WAY TO GO, MAYBE SOMEONE ELSE CAN COMMENT ABOUT THIS SUBJECT, OF POWDERCOATING OR PAINTING BODY PARTS?????? :) :) chevy chevy :) :)
