The 1949 and 1950 skirts were the same and same for all body styles. The right and left were different with the front of the skirt slightly taller than the back and had a slight buldge on the front edge to follow the fender conture.
The 1951 and 1952 skirts were the same (for those years) and the right and left were the same....heighth from front to rear the same and flat surface. When installed the locking lever would be to the front on one side and to the rear on the other. When installed the locking lever would be to the front on both sides.
The 1949 and 1950 skirts were used on the 1951 and 1952 sedan delivery and wagon.
The 1953 and 1954 skirts were the same and were flat and taller to the front and the rods that stuck out of the front and rear of the skirt were flat rather than round.

Chevgene, In your center paragraph your last two sentences (in regards to 51 skirts) seem to contradict each other. I believe the last one is incorrect. Please check that and verify. Thanks, Donn

"When installed the locking lever should be to the front for both sides" should be after the 1953 description. (and the 1949-50) The 1951-52 will have one lever to the front and one to the rear.

Gene posted an interesting article on "Fender Skirts" in the August 2007 issue of G&D, page 21. Good info, there.
