I am cking into having the worm made for the 1917 to 1921(approx) model H,FA,FB, and model T truck steering gears. It appears that these models and maybe one year newer and one year older use the same steering box.Different than 490's.Part # for the worm is 40485 and the box # is 43438. The # for the complete assembly is 43268.If you have a parts book and can verify the application for this worm, please chime in.I plan on having 8 worms made and will have 5 available, unless more are needed. These will be machined to original measurements off of the one I have and will be hardened after machining.

I also have a # for a modern thrust bearing that should work and have packing available for the steering shaft seal.

Is there is any interest in this item, I would like to know before I give the go ahead. Approx. cost for the worm will be $150 each and the bearings run around $14 each, takes 2.

There are also bronze bushings in the gear on the sector shaft. I haven't cked on them yet, but bronze bushings aren't ever a problem to find or make. Thanks, Andy.
