I'm starting restoration of a 57 chevy convertible; cloassic cars are periodicly totaled; salvage compinies buy them from insurance companys. Is there a clearing house , company, or restorer, who would have information on how to inquire about such vehicles. A 57 convertible rear ended or front totaled; would still probably still have a good interior (turquoise) and many other parts. A 4dr. hardtop was totaled in Sacramento, Ca.; and sold for $6,500 to a body shop;I probably had the parts from one of my 4dr. hdtps. Any suggestions? I'm doing this on a budget.....62 yr. old Disabled American Veteran who'd like to relive his youth!
