Craig, I am assuming that you are going to put the 250 in if it will fit. I think it will but I don't have the particulars you are seeking. I wish you good luck.
If, however, there is any room for reconsideration, I do encourage you to reinstall a 216 in it and to keep it as original as reasonably as practical. 216s are not hard to find. There is one on Ebay now. Look under "216 engine." Try to find a 48-52. If you follow the instant thread under "1941 forum" you will find a heap of information posted by Chevgene (he has forgotten more than the rest of us will ever learn about old Chevys). You will see that the later 216s are much superior to the early ones, as tough as they are. Then, too, as I understand it, there are no engine (displacement) points deducted at meet judgings as long as there is 216 installed.
