VCCA Home Forums TECHNICAL - 1945 AND EARLIER 1937-1945 Source for '38 hood molding clips??

Need to attach the side molding on the hood of my 38. I found a source for the wide molding clips but have struck out with Chev's, fillingstation and I&I on the smaller size clips for the narrow molding.

Does anyone know of other sources?

There's a place about 40 miles from where I live here in western Pennsylvania that is supposed to have thousands of different "hard to find" clips. I can't guarantee they'll have what you're looking for, but it's work a try. They're called Restoration Specialities and Supply Company. Here's their website: http://www.restorationspecialties.com/

If you go to their site, they do have an online catalog that shows pictures of the clips they carry. Their phone numbers are 814-467-9842 or 814-467-9282. They're open 9-5 Eastern time. Give them a shot.

I checked with the above company's web site and they do have the correct end "T" bolts for the narrow moulding, but don't have the clips listed.

Anyone else with a suggestion?

Any one know the correct size and type fasteners to attach the firewall padding? Were bolts used or a small "christmas tree" plug like ones used throughout the 50' and 60's?

Call them up and send them a sample they have many many many types of clips that they do not print in the catalog because of limited quantities. I sent them some clips for my 62 Biscayne rocker mouldings and they had them. They really are great people to deal with, there are also two brothers who hail from PA that have a rather extensive selection of clips.
