Hi, Can anybody tell me where I can purchase Brake friction material and the Rivets for my 26.They must be willing to ship to Canada. It measures 2 inches wide.I'm not sure of the lenth.
Mine is OK but I don't want to have to pull the rear wheels again anytime soon.

All Frictions Co are excellent people to do business with. They helped me with the brakes on my '25. Their about a 30 minute ride from my house.

Now you can't beat that endorsement with a stick. Glad they also helped you with your brakes. Good brakes are critical to safe operation of our old Chevys.

Contact Ottawa Clutch http://www.ottawaclutch.com/

Ask them for the soft green flexible/soft linings. I had them reline my rears on my 28 and they are great. I have also purchased the same, pre cut with rivets from Gary Wallace.

Now the "maple leafs" have a friction supplier so they only have to deal with the in country shipping and not the passover at the border. This Chat II site continues to amaze me with the info and help available. What did we do before the internet? Seems like a decade ago and memories that come in the middle of the night are mares.

When I was in Ottawa Clutch, they had a set of shoes for an elevator covered in green. they told me the use it on all the ski lifts, elevators and many other band brakes. I should have taken a picture of the rear brakes they did. It was stellar! Cleaned, painted metal, etc. My son told me about them. They are the local Bully Clutch supplier/builder. They do awesome stuff.Dollar wise they were the same price as linings from Gary Wallace. Labour is about $90/hr and it takes them about an hour to do the rear brakes.

And to confirm what Chipper said, if it wasn't for this site, I would not be doing this hobby or have my car running. The many repairs I had to do this summer were all done with advice from my new friends here. Here's hoping for an early spring! i hate the winter.

If it wasn't for this Chat site, or the internet in general, this is one 1926 Chevrolet that would have been left in the old Fella's garage where I found it. As a rule parts are hard to come by in Canada as is advice on these old Chevys.
Thanks Again Guys

If you hate winter why do you stay up North? On his seventh day he rested in Texas! You can too.

And warm too. Guess that is what the friction material is for. Know that friction causes heat. How is that in getting this thread back to the original topic?
