A good source is a parts book for the years of interest. The model designations and code numbers are listed in the front of many of those books. And the body sections have the Fisher Body Numbers also. And a no additional cost bonus is a whole bunch of part numbers that use the model designation numbers to identify the application(s).

Don't get the model code such as a GB (1937 Master) confused with a body code (371217) which is a 1937 Master 5 window coupe.
The model codes are in the first pages of the parts book where as the body style codes are in the front of the body section of the parts book. The body section begins in group 10.000

So would a Master Parts book be the right item to buy? And if so, is it available reproduced?
Thanks Don

Don,
Master Parts Catalog, Master parts Price List, Master parts and accessories List/Catalog. They have different titles but they have the info you need. I am not familiar with the reprinted versions but it is not uncommon for certain supplementary data to be omitted from reprint material. The catalog you want will cover a range of years starting with 1929 as in 1929-1952. You will need one that is new enough to cover all the years that interest you if possible. The 29-54 original catalog is one of my favorites because it covers the 6 cylinder years and has lots of extra info. I would get an original if possible.
Good Luck

Mike

The only problem is if you have a 1929-1954 catalog only the parts they still had in stock for the older models will be in the catalog. Which for a 1929 for example would be very few.
The reproduced cataalogs would br the same as the original.
For general pre-war use a 1929-1941 catalog would give good coverage but there again some of the 1929 parts would not be shown.
The 1954 catalog would give fairly good post war coverage.

So to have ideal coverage I should look for a '29-'41 catalog and a '46-'54 catalog? Just wondering about the war years, '41 - '45. Thanks for all the help. Don

Don,
What year(s) are you interested in? I always recommend a parts book within a year or maybe two of the model year and then another approximately 10 years later. Between the two you can identify the original part number(s) and generate an interchange list. I have many original parts manuals for sale. Check recent G&D magazines for the ad. Just remember that pre-29 four cylinder era vehicle parts are not listed in the six-cylinder parts books so, if you want to have information on them you will need books covering them also.

'28, '32, '41 parts books have been reprinted for many years and are generally available.

Are the CD's on e-bay essentially the same thing you guys are talking about? There are two on there now, not getting any bids.

TaylorD,
They are; however, you are paying for the same info that you would receive free from the site shown in my reply above. Keith Hardy has done an outstanding job of building and maintaining the site. Many other people as well, including some who are members of this foum, have made contributions to it.
