As far as I know (which isn't all that far! crazy), the doors for the '60-'66 C-10 1/2T trucks are interchangable.

When I look for door weatherstriping (seal), various vendors list a seal that glues on to the door frame for all the years, but list a separate seal that glues on to the door itself for the '60-'61, but not for the '62-'66 trucks. Is that correct?

If the above is correct, did Chevy find the door seal was unnesscary or would it be a good idea to intall it on my '63, which is going to be a dailey driver in the good months?

Thanks for any input.

Bob,
The 64-66 1/2 ton door will not interchange with the 60-63. The dog-leg style was eleminated in 64.
The weatherstrip is listed in the parts book as follows: 60-66 All (exc. van) inner (cemented to opening) #3767156;
60-61 All (exc. van) outer (cemented to door) #3769319

I can find no listing of outer door weatherstrip for 62-66.
I bought a new 1/2 ton in 64 and don't remember it having weatherstrip on the door.

Bob, I think you'll find that the weather strip will affect door gap and closure greatly. You can have the door lined up beautifully and then install the w/s and mess it all up. The doors on these trucks tend to hang out at the bottom rear corners in fresh-from-the-factory condition. GM changed to the cab mounted w/s for a reason, and since it's a daily driver, I would be inclined to follow suit and install the cab w/s in lieu of door w/s. try to get a good quality w/s from Steele because if it's not good you'll very much regret it and have to buy it and install it all over again. I have some firm rubber w/s on the doors on my 61 and the doors close like crap. A hard slam is necessary. I thought some time would cure that but it didn't happen. On my 60, the originals are still there and the doors close like they should.

Thanks for all the replies. My '63 had cab mounted weatherstipping on it when I got it, but I thought it might have had both dor & cab mounted weatherstripping due to a drawing in the shop manual. I went back and looked closer and saw I was in error - there was only the cab mounted w/s in '63.

Thanks again and a Very Merry Christmas to everyone!!
