If you use stainless steel nuts and bolts are points deducted?

One of the purposes of having a car judged in the VCCA is to have the Chevy evaluated as to how closely the car resembles how it originally was built by Chevrolet at the factory. If non-original replacement stainless steel bolts show when the car is judged, a few points will probably be deducted. One of the VCCA goals when judging a car is to help the Chevy car owner understand what was really original on the car.
The VCCA judging process encourages originality. Quite often many nuts and bolts are replaced when restoring a car. If all of the replacement nuts/bolts are made out of stainless steel, expect to lose a few points.
If you are building a CDPC = Chevrolet Driver Participation Class car, then feel free to replace as many bolts with stainless steel as you like. Just build the car, drive it and enjoy it.
Ultimately the decision is yours alone. If you like stainless steel bolts on your car go for it.

I will add VCCA judging does not get as anal about nuts and bolts as some clubs do.

gene is correct. no club is as obsessive/compulsive about fastners as NCRS. there are two very unique 5/16 fine threaded bolts that fasten the 57 Fuel Injection fuel filter to its mounting bracket---i've seen them sell for couple hundred bucks apiece. mike
