Is the '29 Chevy passenger car gas cap vented? What other year gas caps will fit a '29? :confused:

Thanks, jyd. What I would like to find is a locking cap for a '29. I saw one on eBay, but it is not vented. Probably not one made that will fit a '29. Thanks again.

Genuine Chevrolet accessory locking gas caps were not available for 1929. However, there are aftermarket locking gas caps (the Filling Station has some) that will fit on your '29 but I don't believe that they are vented as you are finding out. :( :( :(

Venting is not a problem. Just drill a very small hole in the top of the cap. Not through the locking mechanism.

Ray, Thanks for the idea. What about leakage? I guess if the hole is small enough it would not be that big of a problem. Thanks all. :)
