Hello USA!
Iam going to change bearing on rear axle on my 1931 coach, I have produced an puller to take the drum off. So I took the wheele, cotter pin, slotted nut, brake drum, ten screws, washer and felt ring off. But what am I doing now? Must I take the axle out? How to take the axle out? Must there be an pullar to take the axle out? Are there any screw, nut or inside locking device in rear axle housing? Please help me whith advise. JYD you explain it, for time ago, but I have forgotten it.

The lokal dealer has rubber doudled sealed axle bearings in stock. But they says, you should replace the inner axle bearing seal with an felt ring. Is that an good idea? Will the outer felt ring be reassemble or shall I throw it.

Glad that the bearing change was accomplished. Fixing the nut and threads must have taken some time and expertise. Most would look for another axle and nut.

Boggered (bad)threads at the end of the axle is a very common problem. Bengt, how did you fix this problem?

It was the nut who is holding the bearing. Not the axle end nut.I ground the weld first and took a hack saw blade and clean the threads. The axle are hardened so it was easy.I took greace and hope it will go well, unscrew the nut,it went well.I purchace a new nut and a lock washer at an lokal dealer.

Thanks Bengt, I was hoping you had a solution for the other end that is usually in bad shape.
