The shocks need rebuilt and the shock link bushings are shot. Chevs offers rebuilt shocks but if there's someone in the VCCA rebuilding shocks I'd rather make them some money before Chevs of the 40s. Is there a VCCA member who rebuilds lever action shocks?

Will, I think the skeleton is about out of the closet. Besides the shocks we just discovered the pitman arm is bad. Bad as in about to fail, dangerous to drive. I think I'm going to have to have a "come to Jesus meeting" with the front end man who told me there's nothing wrong with it. The dollars are leaving at a prodigious pace but not as fast as if it had failed at highway speed.

Apple Hydraulics in New York state rebuilds these shocks. You might want to give them a callbefore buying from Chevs of the 40's. I don't know currently how their prices compare. I got a set of rebuilt front shocks for my 41 from them a few years ago and was delighted with them. You do need to trade in your old set or pay the core charge.

Wish I'd known that yesterday morning Charlie. I've already got shocks coming from Chevs.

Edit: After looking at Apple's prices, Chevs must be getting theirs done somewhere else because their price is over $30 per shock cheaper.
