Where does the shifter indicator led plug into the guage panel? I have looked it over and cannot find a hole.

What year and model truck? is it a 5 speed manual overdrive?
is that a led indicator or the indicator LEAD wire?
another question:
Are you talking about the indicator that tells you to shift up, on a 5 speed manual overdrive transmission? or the indicator for the gear shift position that you are in on an electronic automatic transmission?

When asking questions you should be as specific as possible, including the year and model of your vehicle, so that others can help you with the correct answer.

Its the cable that illuminates the shift indicator on the column.

I have a 1968 GMC and my fiberoptic cable runs from the shift indicator housing to the inside of the steering wheel hub. Then into a plate on the bottom of the steering column that covers the cable, and then through the rubber gasket that surrounds the steering column at the instrument panel.

So it just sticks under the seal on the instrument panel?

Yep, that's how mine is. The metal cover (with the wire inside) goes through the seal on the instrument panel.
