Guys,
Yesterday I did some calculations in an attempt to decifer two title numbers on a 1931 Standard Coupe (3W). The listed car number had an extra digit and the engine number was missing a digit. During the calculation process I found the published number of all passenger models (including Sedan Delivery) was 623901 (published in several places). Also found that if I added up the number of vehicles produced in the assembly plants (from the first number each month list) I got 649191. That assumes that the last vehicle is the serial number listed in the October column. Since there is a second set of serial numbers on that sheet for 1 1/2 ton trucks the difference is not the large trucks.

Is the difference of 27290 the number of 1/2 ton trucks produced in 1931 production year?

Or is one set of figures for the model year and one set for the calendar year?

They are both supposed to be for the production year but don't have copies of the original body style documentation like I have for the serial number by plant.
