Hey Gang.
Having a spot of trouble finding someone locally to make me a top. Is there anyone out there who makes and sells tops for these cars that I can install myself?
Thanks Dan

Check with Area 6 BOD member Clay Perrine. He had top done in the Dallas ares a few years ago. I will try to get with you when I get back home so you can get the top and side curtain patterns.

Chipper! Do you have any tip where to get/buy patterns for side curtains to a 1929 Phaeton? :vcca:

I had the top fabric made for my 1919 FB 50 at Fisher Trim in Lubbock, TX. They did a beautiful job. I can help with top bows and bow cones if they are rusted out also. thutch

DrNoose, I may still have the old top. I'm not sure, let me look around and see. I think any good convertable tope maker should be able to fit it with no problem if the top bows are all in place. If I don't still have the old top I can take some pictures that will be helpful. If you decide to bring your car to Lubbock for the top we can drive mine back to the shop for a pattern. They wanted to see it after it was painted any way. There are some pads and straps that I do have. With a few pictures these should be no problem. I made them my self. Hutch

The best solution I know of is to look at the photos on page 49 of Robertson's book "A Pictorial History of Chevrolet 1919-1939". It is photo from the GM Archives of a 1930 Touring with side curtains installed.

Drnoose must have fallen off the edge of the world. Have sent him a PM and email but so far no response. I have an original top and interior for FB 50 that I have near Houston. So far have not been able to get with him to schedule a pickup. Maybe he still needs it.

A message near to St.Claus coming twice a year, in my opinion. Drnoose must be very pleased when he reads your message, Chipper!
