hello, i believe the 1927 i inquired about earlier may have been sold, per seller....=( unfortunate for me!

anyhow, i've now found another of interest, this time, i FIRST asked for the ID numbers, which are as follows (cut/paste from Sellers response):

VIN # is 358382,
Body # is 0-5447,
Trim # is 25,
Paint # is 132 and
Job # is 33-559.

from these ID's/Numbers, can anyone decipher these numbers to explain their meanings/representations (presuming sellers accuracy of them)

says he has never checked their meaning tho, but as a ovice, believes the car to be an original, down to the interior and engine!

once again, any guidance/input would be appreciated.

thanks for your time/efforts....maybe i can manage to make this deal work =)

best wishes and happy holidays (super fast approaching)

regards,
iukini

Vin number posted is not the VIN (serial) number. Serial number (no VIN number back then) is under the front floor mat, right side, next to the door opening. Will consist of letters and numbers and will determine if your 1933 is an early model (Eagle) or a late model (Master). On The Eagle there was no divider bar between the front door window and the front door wing vent window. On the later Master there is a divider bar present - as when the window is rolled down and the vent is open.

O -5447 = body made at the Fisher Body plant in Oakland, number is production sequence numbe for that body style.
25 refers to the interior upholstery/trim....which would be a brown mohair for that number. It was the standard trim and a vast majority has that interior,
132 = Solid black with a gold stripe. Wheels could be black or red.
33-559 = a 4 door of the Eagle/Master series

The 358382 may be a portion of the engine number. Prior to 1954 most states used the engine number for registration and that was on the title and not the the serial number. Engine numbers for a 1933 Eagle/Master ranged from 3367317 to 3964077.
The engine number is stamped into a raised pad on the right side of the block just behind the fuel pump.
More info can be determined by the casting number (raised numbers) on the lower right side of the block and other numbers that can moreor less determine when the engine was cast. The serial number will also determine which month the car was assembled.

hi Chevgene,

hey, thanks for the info...REALLY appreciate that! seems like everything is in order. other than the VIN, which i have asked the Seller to post info from the locations you generously provided.

wish i knew how to upload pics here....as i would like to post a driver side view of the vehicle...

from what i see in it tho, there is NO bar between the Wing and Window on the Drivers door - which according to your post, is an EAGLE/early model

everything else (less the VIN) is in order and matches what you cited. i think the wheels may have been changed, appear to be spoked in the pics.

but the interior, colors, 4door, etc. on the money when compared to the pictures i see.

thank you for your time and posting, really helps the validity of what the Seller has provided prior to physical inspection.

let you know the outcome! =)

take care and thanks.

no VIN number back then

As Gene stated, there was no "VIN" number back then. It is called the car serial number.
