It took a while but we are now completely on our own. What that means is that we have an entire server all to ourselves. No body else can steal performance or space from us.
So please give the Chat Forum a good ride and let me know what you find. Post your comments to this note.
Also, if you find any "old" url's broken, please let me know. I'm trying to place bread-crumbs at all of the old spots so that people can find us here. Thanks!!

Bill at the bottom of this and other forums it says Powered by UBB is that still true. Good job and it is nice and smooth and the Yankees WON! Bill in the MY PHOTO forum I think we lost Tiny's photo at least I can't view it.
Billy Boy Barker! Found for those who are technical advisors that there is an "X" under their user name where "Tech. Advisor" should be. So far, the rest looks good!
:vcca: I haven't done much with it yet except Shout to a bunch of new guys, but it was easy to get into the new site and everything seems to be fine. Fantastic job, BB, AS USUAL!!!Beamer
One other thing that I noticed Billy Boy Barker is that the user names that are on "Who's On Line" appear to be the same names as last night, along with the same number of spiders and the number of guests. I could be wrong but I don't think "Who's On Line" is reflecting the current user names that are actually on line at the time.
One comment. I have never shown up in the "Who's Online" box until after making a posting. After I made the Shout and above posting, I still do not show up there. I even logged out and logged in thinking that since I am automatically logged in each time I visit the site that might have something to do with it but it didn't. Not a problem for me but I am just curious as to why I don't show up as being on the site. Beamer
Beamer: Right now it appears as though the "Who's On Line" is not working because your user name should be there also. The names that currently appear on "Who's On Line" are the same user names that were there last night at 10:00 PM after the switch over to the new server.
I goofed up my initial log on, tried to log on one that Billy had banned, at my request, Every time I went to log in it went to the message Banned! It seems that my memory needs to be re booted, not the computer's , but my internal memory which seems to be bleeding off at a good rate, lately. No it isn't alhimers, but my daughter says it is "Old timer's diease" Ha! Anyway I went in and deleted my vcca cookies and started over, got on at last. Didn't we even get a new name? "chevy chatter II"?
We are FREE, Free at last.....

Concerning "Who's Online", if I click on "Who's Onine", a new page will come up and my name is there right away along with who is on line with time of coming on and seems anyone else who comes on line shows up right away also. Try it. Another comment to come.

I think I'm a fairly wise person because I'm smart enough to realise I'm not too bright.
Whoa, how fast do we want to get. Be careful for what you wish for. I used to click on Active Topics from my favoites, go pour a glass of jagermeister, sit down, have a shot or two, , it would come on, hit an interesting topic, have another one, sterech, and maybe one more, then that would come on, , read it, hit another topic, wait as I went through the same prceedure, , and ect. Worked out nice that way. Now, it's bang, bang, bang and I'm done. Was more fun having a few on the Chat Site than when playing soitarie like I do with my free time now. Well, at least I'll have more time to work on my '49 this winter.

Since jerrygolf got all this computer stuff figgured out he has had to improvise so that boredoom didn't take over. What he needs is a couple feet of snow out on the golf course to make his game worth the trip! Hang in there Jerry!

Bill I just came on at 7:20 PM EST and had to sign in again and I was already signed in from this morning and I had been on a couple of time during the day. Just information don't know if it was me or the site.
Yep... they renamed it and repaved part of it.. but it still has NINE turns, and changes 150' in elevation. It takes a little over 60 seconds to travel once around it - 2.5 miles long.

Just like VCCA Chat. It now take a little under 60 seconds to travel once around it! ;-) The move to this new server is a welcome development. Bill, thanks for all of the hours of blood, sweat and tears to make this spot the best for all of us.

:vcca: Hooray! Hooray! I'm online today! How did I come about this revelation? Because I saw my name in Who's Online!! BB did it again! If I had the coins, I would send him on an all expense paid trip for a week to his favorite vacation spot for all he has gone through to make this site what it is today, especially the past few weeks!! Beamer
For the record, this new site is going to cost the club about $60 extra a year. So, in addition to my time, that was the cost of us moving to a world-class performance account.
I'm thinking of ways to recoup that $60. It wouldn't surprise me if we need to restrict postings next year to members only. (but still keep reading free and open to the public) But maybe we should consider a VCCA Chat membership for $10 for 6 months, or something like that. If we had six people sign up, then that pays for the upgrade... and if 30 more sign up, it pays for the annual hosting fee.
Something to think about as we continue to get more and more people using the service for free. Who was it that said "it's time for a change?"

Bill, Once we have a real time database up and running we can do a bunch of creative things. That coupled with accepting credit cards allows the VCCA to offer valuable services on a subscription basis. If they want the whole Megillah then it is VCCA membership. If only Chat posting and viewing maybe a lesser annual dues. If only the G&D magazine a different dues structure. It sure would be nice to have people that use this site more than once to contribute to its cost.
