G'day all, I know this is officially is not the section for advertising, but you blokes are all in the know. I'm looking for a 1928 Chevrolet coupe, in running order, older resto or original is fine. I'd prefer something within reasonable transporting distance to California
Any leads appreciated
Chris

There happens to be a 28 coupe on E-bay right now, although it is a long way from the West coast.

Yep, He posted pics of that car on this site. I recognised it as my Dad has the twin to it, but Dads car is original paint and looks a lot better that that one does and has more miles on it. I did notice someone in the past chromed the intake , valve cover and fan shroud on the Ebay car. It was also advertised as having original tires. I have seen a 28 Chevy 2 dr with 14.7 miles on it driven home from the dealer and parked. Not one chance in a million years are those the original tires. My 28 30k mile truck has the original spare which is wore to the cords and is either a goodrich or goodyear, hard to read. My 24 Olds has the original Goodyear diamond tread (rear) on the spare rack and it is totally disintegrating. Those are Allstate tires on the Ebay car from the 50s/ early 60s, I remembered the tread pattern. Dads car has 79,000 original miles and his seat is in way better shape (original upholstery), running boards are nicer and those same exact tires were put on when he bought it in the late 50s plus his model A pickup bed trailer I am using to haul firewood these past few weeks has the same Allstates on it. Allstate tires were sold by Sears and Roebuck.

Thanks for your reply
I corresponded with the owner of the 28 coupe on ebay, however due to distance form CA and the time taken to get a shipping price to CA I missed the end of the auction. It was passed in and now ebay won't let me contact the owner.
Does anyone in the chat group know who the owner is and if so can please supply a name and phone number as I'd like to purchase the Chev if the price is reasonable
I forgot to ad details, seller is easydoesit1950 and ebay item number is 120483926231
Chris

Chris sent a PM not an email. It should show up as a red flashing icon above this post. Or click on the "My Stuff" in the middle of the line above (near center of the page) and then click on "Messages".

Got the reply. Hope it all works out for the best. The description sounds good but may not be reality.

Thanks, however I'm looking for something I can jump in and go. I don't mind a bit of work, but am too old to take on another restoration project.
That convertible cabriolet would surely be classed as rare
