I have the chassis of a 1929 truck. It is marginally running, but has no shocks or snubbers.
When I shift into second, it begins to porpoise down the road.
Certainly I am missing something.
I bought a repo repair manual but it does not treat the springs.
What am I missing????

The '29 truck did not have shocks or snubbers. My '30 truck, same as the '29, had a porpoising problem that turned out to be the low speed jet in the carburetor. The springs are so tight that shocks would not serve any useful purpose. You say it is marginally running, I would certainly look at the carburetor.

Thanks, Art, I will scrutinize the carb.
