Hi all,
We've got a gentleman in our local VCCA chapter that has a 1982 S-10 that needs a carburetor. The truck is a 2wd, automatic, 2.8V-6, w/49 state emissions. It is running alright, but will not meet emissions due to running a bit too rich. I personally haven't worked on the carb, but another supposedly good mechanic is at his wits end, and says the carburetor has an internal warpage problem, and needs to be replaced. Also stated was that the carb was a one year only deal. Not sure if I believe all of this, but thought it might ring a bell with some of you guys. The question I have is: What years/models will actually interchange exactly with this carburetor. Anybody have a spare one kicking around? Thanks in advance...

Contact Townsend's Automotive here in Tucson. Holley carburators has a rebuild division that should have that carb available. Townsends has to order it. They will need the carb number that's stamped the side or back. I think it starts 1705 or 1708. It's 8 digets long...Joe

Thanks for the quick reply. We'll give that a shot.
