How many bolts are there? I can only find two on the top running through trans into the block. There must be more right but where and how do you get to them?

Also, how do you pull the light switch from the dash?

PS - Any logical explanation for why the engine is painted yellow? Stock original engine in original car (no mods) so why would it be yellow?

More bolts inside the bell housing. If they are the bell housing to engine bolts you will see them when you remove the flywheel.

First remove light switch knob. Pull knob all the way out, then depress flat spring that clips onto the shaft knob is on and its behind the dash. Give knob another tug while spring is depressed and knob and shaft should pull ot. Then use a screw driver to loosen nut on front of dash.

The engine was the dark blue/gray color on all 1929-1952 engines. A rebuilt engine was probably installed at one time.
Originally the complete engine and bell housing was painted the blue/gray color.

so I have to pull the flywheel off to get the engine separated from the trans? ummmm what? How do you get the flywheel off without already having separated the two? I can't pull the engine and leave the trans in place?

If you want to leave the transmission in the car then take out the 4 bolts that hold the transmission to the bellhousing. You will find 2 on the top ears of the transmission that go into the bellhousing, the other 2 are inside the bellhousing and go into the transmission.

Ok, I see the four bolts. Do I need to get the clutch arm out of the bell housing before pulling it or will it come off of that pivot and come out with the bellhousing?
