Is it possible for the shaft coupling to move back? It acts like it is not connected. My new 1925 has no oil pressure. joe

1922c the coupling is threaded and I guess it could. If the rear generator housing is original pot metal; it probably cracked. That will stop the oil pump from working. Just remove the two oil pump bolts and check the housing.

Joe; Do you have low or no oil pressure? It's not unusual to have low oil pressure at idle with a warm engine. The main objective is to have some oil pressure at idle. Two to five PSI is not unusual with a warm engine.

On my 24 Superior the end of the shaft where it fits into the back of the generator wore off. Lost pressure and lost a rod bearing. The guys at a local machine shop made a new shaft for me and it appears to be working very good. I am not sure how lack of oil pressure in these cars could have anything to do with a worn out engine? It appears to me that the way the pump is attached to the back of the generator and the line runs from the pump to the pressure gauge would not be affected much by the condition of the engine. Search on my earlier posts, the folks on this site helped me a lot!!
Thanks,
Bruce
