I finally feel like I'm making some progress. After four weeks of prep work I spayed on 2 coats of green on my 26 yesterday . I made a plastic spray booth in my garage. The hose in the picture is for fresh air. I'm using my CPAP machine to blow in fresh air for my mask. I'm using Endura paint which is a tough but very toxic paint manufactured locally (www.endura.ca). That's one of the doors sitting on the pail. The color is jade green instead of the original biscay green but I like it and besides it was a "mistint" on sale at $10 for 2 quarts of part A. I'm pretty happy with the finish and pretty proud to put on two coats with no runs or sags. What looks like wrinkles in the body are reflections from the plastic walls of the booth. Next week I plan to reunite the body with the frame and start working on the hood, fenders, etc. I plan to do the fenders and aprons in gloss black. Were the top irons black or body color?

Man that is some good thinking, using a CPAP pump for fresh air. I bet there are alot of them around.

Fixed-pressure CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure)
A continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine is used mainly by patients for the treatment of sleep apnea at home,
The CPAP pump supplies continuous positive airway pressure via a nasal face mask.

Don't leave home without it!

Arend - I believe the top irons were black, as well as the windshield frame and stanchions. I thought the dash and the front seat back were also black, or was that only on closed cars?

Hope to see pictures of your project when you are finished.

Thank you to all who responded. I guess I should have explained what a CPAP machine is. It is indeed a machine that pumps air at a prescribed pressure to a face mask that a person with sleep apnea wears while sleeping. My G-kids call mine "Grandpa's snore muffler". I had an old painting mask with a hood for which I couldn't get cartridges for anymore. I modified it so I could attach a hose and duct taped over the holes where the cartridge holders were. I just bought a couple of lengths of sump pump hose. It's cheap and it's light. The CPAP machine sits outside well away from the garage. These machines are expensive but I don't see how this will hurt it in any way.
I checked a lot of pictures of 25/26 Touring cars and they all have the dash and seat back body color. These form part of the structure of the car so they would have to be painted body color at the factory.

Arend - You're probably correct on the dash color, but I just checked the back side of the front seat metal frame on my touring and it had some sort of a fabric covering over it. I suppose it could have been covered after it was painted body color, but mine is rusty without any sign of paint, which could have flaked off long ago. I still think the closed car dashes were black only. I have a sedan also, both are mid to late '25s.
