That car has an X frame and there is only sheet metal, ribs and braces from headlight to door post. If it were hit dead center I think the results would be a little different. (except for the windshield flying into space and the steering wheel smashing your ribs.) Take an old car with a full perimeter frame and do that same test. On second thought, NO don't do that!
Still, the new cars ARE designed to absorb an impact like that and it does work!
