I don't have any taps that small. The tail lite wire and dash lite it that post will not work properly ? If not I will try and locate that size tap or another switch. By looking at the switch and seeing those to being tied together I thought when you turned on the tail lite the dash lite came on at the same time. TKS

You can get an 8-32 tap at the hardware store for just a few bucks. The dash light comes on with the parking lights and the headlights. You can put both the tail light wire and the dash light wire together on the same terminal is you wish.

I think you should wire them together because you might damage the switch while trying to retap it.Also , after the retap the threads may be loose and you may not bea ble to tighten .I believe The Filling Station sells new switches and they are always popping up on ebay. Good luck, Bob.

If you are careful you can retap the hole on the light switch. I have done several in the past with no problem. It is better, however, if you do remove the bakelite terminal assembly on the back of the switch first and then retap the threads. The easiest way to correct the problem is to connect the two wires on the same terminal as cape cod bob suggests. The Filling Station does not sell a headlight switch for your application.
