I can't imagine wasting that kind of money on something you will never get to enjoy. i.e. Marriage license, or TV for the master bedroom.

I was surprised that the crypt above was "occupied" at all There was a story that Joe Dimaggio had bought that crypt so no one could ever do so. I do know he had flowers sent to her grave every week until he died. He was a class act, strange but a class act none the less. He thought when he married her she would be the type to raise children, well no one ever said jocks were smart......

Yep, the crypt has been occupied by a dude by the name of Richard Poncher since about 1986. He purchased two crypts from Joe DiMaggio back in 1954 after Joe divorced Marilyn. One of the crypts was directly above Marilyn and the other crypt was up and to the left. Richard the Dead Dude was placed in his casket face down when he was put in his crypt above Marilyn. The empty crypt to the left of Marilyn is owned by Hugh Hefner and he purchased the crypt back in 1992 for $75,000. Now, Richard Poncher is going to be moved one space to the left into his other crypt and eventually he will be looking down at Hugh Hefner instead when Hef croaks. Now....there is s terrible thought! Anyway, a crypt two spots above Monroe and to the left is still available, at a bargain of 250,000 dollars.

Count me as another big fan of Joe D. He must have really been smitten by MM. Hard to imagine the guy was so head-over-heels about her that he thought she'd be a mom and all that. All I've read indicates he was a genuine 'class act.' Probably too bad he ever met her. Let alone married her. Oh well....

Blue, As I always say when I hear "money screws people up" etc. etc.....I'd sure be willing to give it a try. Just to see if getting a bunch of money (like winning a $100 mil lottery) would do the same to me. I'd definitely be willing to take the "chance"......  Bill.
