Anyone ever heard of a Rocky Mountain Rural Mail truck or has anyone seen anything like this? Any info would be appreciated. [Linked Image from i118.photobucket.com]

There was a recent auction in the mid west that had a 1929 Model A Sport Coupe that was set up very similar. Tractor wheels on the back and front. The story was this would get thru the ruts and dips in the gravel / dirt roads. This would be a great addition to your collection. A real piece of Americana. I'd leave it like it is after a good washing.

I have a 38 Mail truck with a Proctor-Keefe body that was used in San Francisco.

The rear opening on most Mail Trucks of the 20s and 30s had panel doors on top and tailgate below.
PS: Nice rear wheel option. I can't find that in the Silver Book. Does it have a 108" Wheel base? Does it have mechanical or hydraulic brakes?

Certainly a find with a difference. With the larger diameter wheels on the drive would mean faster travel.

May have had a gear change or something as the seller says that the speedo reads correctly and it doesn't seem to be geared to high when driving.
