This is my first posting so hope it works. Does anyone know how to take apart the tumblers and keyed switch from the trunk lock housing? I am trying to replace the cylinder spring and new tumblers. Is there any place where I can find repair information? This is an interesting site.

Hi (again) John,

I'm disappointed to see nobody has addressed your question from back on May 3rd .

I hope someone who knows will see my comment and help you out....

Never pulled one apart myself but there is a "key and lock" section in the manual. A little late but hope it's what you were looking for. Cesar

Hi Cesar,

Thanks for making that post.

It always bothers me when a new guy asks a question and it goes un-answered for days or even weeks. I just happened to notice that last night and I'm glad you helped out.

Now, if the guy happens to check back, everything will be cool.....

Hey, Thanks for inquiring about my question. ChevGene E-mailed me regarding it and pertty much solved it for me. This is a good site and I'm sure I will be asking more later. I have been working on and restoring 49-50 Chevys for 25 years so maybe I can help someone else. You can always learn something.

We can always use the advise and experience to help people with their restorations and repairs. As my old grandpappy used to say "experience and wisdom is worth a gallon of sweat".
