There is a Trico KCX-9 for sale on eBay (#160349336974) which the seller states is the replacement for original '31 closed cars. Seems to be decent buy, and I need one. Is this the correct unit or close enough. I am restoring my car, but not anal about having everything perfect?

It appears correct to me. I had a similar one that Ficken said was not rebuildable. It came with my 31. The seller has a good eBay rating. I'd go for it.

Bid on it but someone else outbid me, $152.50. Hope he/she's a member. Seller emailed me that he has another one kicking around somewhere, so hopefully I may get one yet. They're hard to find in working order.

I think Trico KCX-9 is also used on model A ford,it was a replacement part made in the 50s and 60s.Ibought a new one for my A in the late 60s.There are some differances from my 31 Chev, but if you had both a little parts mixeing it should work
