Hello Everybody,
first of all sorry for the poor English!! My last english lesson in school was in 1994.
My Name is Norman and I´m living in Bremen (Beck´s Town) Germany. A few weeks ago i bought a 1958 Chevrolet Biscayne. The car is in pretty good condition. To get a german vehicle registration document i need a lot of facts about the car. The problem is, that the man who sold the car lost the american title. I need the complete Vehicle data of the car to get the document
The only things i got are the information in the car:
VIN:815 4925 818 Engine: 9312038 Paint: 1014 Trim:844 Style:1549 Body No.:125887
The car has a continental kit, the registration authority also wants to have the size of this kit.
Can anybody help me to get this information?? Maybe one of you has a tip where i can find the informations???
Thanks for all.
Best regards
Norman

Norman, The VIN number (vehicle identification number) would have been used on the American title. Back in 1958 it was called the serial number. The VIN number and the other numbers listed show that this is a Canadian car. Different numbers were used in Canada.
The vin number breaks down as follows
58 is year of car 1 is Chevrolet 1549 is Biscayne 4 door 6 cylinder 5815 would be car serial number.
I would assume the car may have been previously registered in Canada.
The continental kit may be the one sold by Chevrolet or another brand. Would need a picture of it to identify.

Not sure as to what you mean by specification data. First US did not issue the title. Each of the states issued a title and they were not the same. The title did not contain any specifications. Would have the car serial number, a description of the car (1958 Chevrolet 4 door as an example) and the owners name and address.
