What is the tie rod from and what are the steering arms from?
The Master Deluxe tie rod is 42 7/16" long and the Master is 43 1/8" long.

Because of the dropped axle you will have to custom make the tie rod. Its to short because when you drop the axle the track width narrows some.

Ahhhh.....memories of my hot rodding days......

donsbigtrucks is correct, unless the axle's been dropped in a jig that will allow stretch and maintain length.

In any event, determine the thread size on the end with right-hand threads, obtain the proper die and re-thread the tie rod to the correct lenth, using a LOT of cutting oil (I use heavy gear oil). If the tie rod is straight enough and you have access to a lathe, you could have new threads cut.

When I put the dropped axle in my 37 p/u I had to shorten the tie rod bar some,it has both right and left hand threads and I shortened it on the right hand thread side. I also had to do something with the drag link as it was on too much of a angle to steer correctly, does the car have the steering box coming out through the frame like a truck or like a modern car.

I got the dies from a local front end shop that does my alignments.
