I am not sure how this type of post is looked at on this chat site. If it is not appropriate I'm ok with it being deleted. My '46 chevy 1/2 ton restoration was chosen (1 of 32 competing out of hundreds of entries) in a Restoration Challenge sponsored by Duplicolor. This is where I need the help from members of the VCCA to get votes in this brackets style competition where winners are based on the public votes. The voting opens today and each bracket lasts a week through July so I need weekly votes to get to the end. Visit restoration challenge link to cast your vote (for my truck please). It's on the left side of the bracket in the first round. I have been paired up against a GTO for the first round so I think it is a great chance to show our Chevy Pride and move the Chevy's through this competition. Time to show everybody just how great old original Chevy's are and take out some muscle cars and hotrods. Please vote!!!!! Tim p.s.; if you have not seen my truck you can visit my restoration page and read about it www.46chevytruck.com

Thanks for the vote in the first round this week. The voting has been neck & neck so every vote helps. As for Hemming's show at Stratton. I just let Richard Lentinello from Hemming's that unfortunately plans changed and I will not be able to make it this year but hope to possibly nextnext year. I would love to see that part of the country anyhow so it makes for a great reason to get up there. I am in the process of rebuilding the original 216 that was in the truck and won't have it completed in time for the show. The truck has a '48 216 in it now so this will bring it back to the original block.

Hi Tim, Continued good luck with the Duplicolor Challenge......I'll continue watching and voting. Too bad about the Hemmings show.....maybe next year then. The way the weather has been here, it'll probably rain anyway. I feel like I've been transported to the Pacific Northwest.

Nice truck Pops! Thanks to everybody for the votes. Voting is open until midnight tonight for round one but I am not able to tell where things are. As of noon today I was ahead by 6 votes so I know it's a close one.

Thanks to everybody for your support and votes in round 1!!! In round two I am paired up against a Camaro. It is pretty nice but not original so I hope to still have everybody's vote in round 2!!!

Tim, Dave Cavagnaro has an email about the contest and your truck that has been circulating in Oklahoma's Heart of Route 66 Region of the VCCA. I voted for you this morning and have marked the site for follow-ups. Good Luck.

Thanks to everybody who has gone out and voted and even more thanks to those that sent it on for additional votes. For those following the "challenge": it is getting tougher!!! There are a lot a really nice cars that my truck is up against. This week is a really nice Camaro. Not sure if he is a member of VCCA or not but I hope to get your continued support. While I have made it past the 2nd round each week it gets tougher and I am trailing early on this week. Thanks again to everybody for your support and I hope I can continue to get your votes this week and beyond!!! Check out my truck restoration web page for details on my restoration before voting. www.46chevytruck.comThanks Tim

Thanks for the votes everybody. This may be the end of the line for me this week. Still have a couple days for voting but I am down 24 as of tonight so its an uphill climb. The Camaro is really nice and I am certain he went through a lot for that car as well. Just glad a Chevy will be advancing either way!!!!

Well that was fun while it lasted. Although I did not "win". I think I really did. I had a blast for three weeks and for that I thank everybody for your support. Who would have thought that an old Chevy truck could beat out a GTO and a Camaro (and almost a second with OVER 600 votes in week 3 - second most in the entire bracket!!!!!). I am pleased that there are still some Chevy's to vote for!
Thanks again!
Tim
