Is there any color formula that a person can get for the 51 Cheverolet car green. A fellow VCCA member wants to paint his 51 with base coat, clear coat to the original green color. Thanks

I would suggest that to find the correct or close to correct color, that you go to this site and follow the steps. You can also order paint on the same site.

My 51 is in the shop right now getting all the body work done, including all 4 NOS fenders installed. It is all original paint with the bottom light green and the top dark metallic green. The bodyman took the trunk lid to the paint shop where they scaned the area behind the trunk handle. The paint came out a perfect match. The dark green has metallic in it so he says they can't scan that. I bought this car on 6/15/01 from the original owner, just fifty years to the day that he bought it. I have all the original paperwork including the original 51 license plate that is stamped on the original title. I sure how it comes out nice. Let me know if you are interested in the paint formula.

The dark grren is very difficult to duplicate. I have almost never seen a car with that color duplicated correctly. There is actually some metallic in the light green also. There was also an early and late version of the light green. There was a slight change made during the production year.

I agree with Gene. Dark green metallic is very difficult to match to the original. And I rarely see a correct match, too.
