I'm trying to start my 1946(47) Fleetmaster after 4 years of restoration. Engine was running like a top before I took her apart down to the frame. Didn't rebuild the engine. Just the carburator. Now, only the no. 5 & 6 cyls wires show a spark with the induction timing light and she won't start. I figure it must be the cap or rotor went bad somehow. Could it be anything else?
Thanks

If cap & rotor are OK, you could pull, clean and regap the plugs. If fouled or shorted, you'll get no indication with the timing light with the plug connected......

Fire to one spark plug and not others strongly indicates spark plug wire problem. Do you have metal core or carbon core spark plug wires? If carbon then separation inside is likely the problem. Also make sure that the plugs are clean and making a good ground.
