My '35 Standard has been sitting for about 25 years. Without removing the head is there a lubricant that will free up the pistons and rust, etc.?
Can I do this with minimum damage to the block, pistons, etc.?
Thanks in advance for responding.

I would remove the plug and spray a penetrating oil or pour some in and let it set fill crank case to over full let it set and remove valve cover and soak everything down remove push rod cover on the side and soak everything then after soaking for some time rock engine back and fourth by hand and when it is free drain pan and reserves and then hope for the best.

Pour a mixture of half white spirit and half modern 2-stroke outboard oil into the cylinders after removing the spark plugs. After a fortnight try to crank the engine. Refill with mixture if needed and continue each fortnight until the engine loosen up. I am sure it will, without any damage.

All of the above but add this old time method. Put a crank in the engine or a lever on the flywheel and put pressure on it with a small jack and let it sit.

I'm suprised that one of you old gear heads hasn't suggested one of the two "tried and proved" methods of freeing up a frozen motor. For eithr one, remove the spark plugs and pour in either Marvel Mystery Oil or Coca Cola!
I'm not going to sign my name to this one!!!!!!!!!!

My 1919 FB 50 had been siting for 30 years and the engine was frozen. I pulled the head before dumping in the oils, good thing I found a mouse nest in #2 cylender and a winters supply of sunflower seeds with him. Don't look for short cuts, pull the head, clean the cylenders, do a valve job and soak the cylenders with marvel mistery oil. You will be proud to have done it right. thutch
Listen to the "click'n" of those push rods
